The last few weeks here have been very strange. Life is no longer orderly and routined like it always has been ever since I came to live at this lovely sanctuary. I don't think it is lovely any more and I will tell you why, then you, my friends, will I am sure agree with me.
It all started one morning at a time far too early for me to be up and awake. I am a bird that likes to get up slowly, have some gentle stretches, a bit of a yawn and then some breakfast. This particular morning, the doors flew open and three burly men stormed in and proceeded to remove everything in sight into their big vans. BooBoo thought "burglars are here and I'm under attack - hope somebody is watching the webcams"!! My fears were not warranted as they were just removing the old units. I remembered hearing the volunteers talking about this, just wish I'd of had more notice! When they got going, the noise was deafening with hammers banging, electrics drill whinging and I just loved every minute of that. I could shout out naughty words and the men couldn't hear me. By the end of the day the place was empty! Gosh, I thought, are they moving, taking everything with them and leaving me behind? I think Sue could do that... Onto the next day and it all started again! the three men arrived far too early and the banging and crashing started. The difference this time is that they were bringing new stuff in. The drlling and hammering lasted all day and BooBoo had quite a headache, but I must say the new drawers and cupboards look very smart. I love seeing these cats trying to break into them and they just can't, it's great. I think I could but I am waiting for the right time to show them how it's done!! By then end of the two days, I had not only made friends with three guys but I was helping them and learning another new trade! Certificate on the way I hope! Before they left we all sat outside and they told me how well I had done and that they could make a kitchen fitter out of me! I particularly enjoyed using the electric drill! Here is a photo that was taken that day.
There is also another thing that is upsetting me. Darryl as you know has taught me how to play snooker. I will be travelling all around the world with him and I will go as hand baggage. Well that is fine but recently he went to Malta and came back with a huge gold cup. That is fine as well, I like the gold cup and can see my reflection in it - it is like having a new mirror! The problem is that everyone is taking photos of him, they are everywhere - even in our local newspapers! All this and not one mention of me - BooBoo? I need to be the star attraction here, I did manage one photo with the cup and you can see it here. To my horror, Darryl also has his name written on this cup so when nobody is looking I am going to scratch BOOBOO on it, right across the front!!
